When 26 year old fashion model Shelissa married military officer Ger Kearney, she was at the helm of developing a lip care line for herself and fellow colleagues to solve dry, chapped lips - an ongoing skin care issue for many women. Shelissa carefully researched the ingredients in major lip care brands on the market and a decade later, Shelissa Cosmetics the skin care line was born. The original "My Sexy Lips Lip Balm" shot to international fame and demand when Shelissa's face graced the cover of a fashion magazine wearing her balm. "I wore the balm on photo shoots and on-set – it was in a colorful blue tube with a glammed up cow face – and people went crazy. They took off like Uggs. Everybody loved them, and it was then that I knew that the cosmetics business was my niche." – Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful, A Guide to Healthy Living
