The Founder and CEO, Shelissa Kearney, has worked to raise awareness and funds for various non-profits and foundations. Shelissa's Lip Balm Co. has been recognized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Heart Association, San Diego Humane Society, Howard General Hospital- A Johns Hopkins Hospital, and numerous schools and charity events. In 2006, Shelissa received an award from the Howard County General Hospital for her commitment to raise awareness and funds for the Claudia Mayer Cancer Center located in Columbia, Maryland.

A project near and dear to her heart is the Stop the Silence organization in Washington, DC working toward the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.
